"Da capo" literally means "from head" in Italian, but is used in music to mean "from the beginning" or "go back to the start of the piece"... you see what I'm getting at. I thought it made an appropriate title as I am starting right back at the beginning of something new to me - blogging. When people mention "blogging" I used to sigh at the thought of reading pages and pages of pointless ramblings. But recently I read one of my friend's blogs and found I was surprisingly interested in what she had to say, so I started branching out to read other people's blogs too. Instead of being full of pointless stories and things I just didn't care about, I found that I could relate to what they were saying and enjoyed subconsciously learning more about other people and their views on various topics. Of course there are many blogs which are just pointless ramblings, but I found these to usually be very entertaining to read, haha!
(You may also be wondering about my username - KirstyCantabile. "Cantabile" literally means "in a singing style" in Italian, and it's possibly my favourite musical direction! I thought it sounded nice beside my name, and so there you go - fun fact of the day!)
I've always been interested in the internet and it's ability to connect people, after first signing up to MySpace, then Bebo, currently Facebook and Twitter - http://twitter.com/MusicalK93 - (and even other sites such a Netlog and Tagged) I was admittedly obsessed and completely excited by the fact that people could communicate so easily! But what I began to find was that all these websites were about the exchange of short messages, and all had limits to the number of characters you could use... so I began to take an interest in the world of blogging. I used to follow many people on YouTube and listen to all their vlogs (video blogs...) but could never find the patience to sit and read their written blogs! But since, recently, a few friends have started blogging I found a sort of enlightenment when reading about their lives and experiences. The main difference between social networking websites and blogging (beside the length of posts) is the ability to "find friends" and communicate... I have discovered blogging is almost quite a private thing, and a world apart from social networking. I have only recently realised the beauty in blogging and in freely expressing thoughts & feelings through written word... sound sappy? Well I guess it is! But that is why I've decided to start blogging and hope that even just one person appreciates or enjoys reading what I have to say.
Blogging to me is inspirational and yet another wonder of the virtual world we know so well as the internet. I'm sure blogging will become another small part of my life "da capo al fine"... literally "from head to end"... "from beginning to finish" <3
